New Museum, and my pictures are rotating

Ok people. I am so overwhelmed with all the adulting (urban dictionary: to do grown up things) happening in my life right now. I have been desperately wanting to tell you about my weekend, but physically didn’t have time nor energy to do so. Anyways, here’s my best attempt. This weekend I went to visit the New Museum. And it’s a contemporary art museum located in Manhattan. I’ve been there once, and that time it was too weird for me. Imagine me, and something being too weird for me, that’s just pretty damn weird. So in my head I was...

Isreal: beacuse repetition makes it perfect

So yesterday was my first day back to work, after a week’s vacation, and that went great. I missed everyone, and I was so happy to be back, in my old familiar cubicle, surrounded by dear friendly faces. Or more like it was fucking hell. I had 564 unread emails, and all my  enthusiasm for work related stuffs vanished pretty much by 3pm, and turned into ‘goddammit, not this shit again’. But that’s another story. I went away to Israel because I had a family wedding to attend, and I’ve been to Isfreal before, and wrote about it here. I’ll try not to repeat...

I’m back, but not really

Well hello, there. In case you noticed, I’ve been away from posting for some longer than usual time. But that’s just because life. I’ve had a lot of things happening at work, and it’s not blog worthy material. I mean how many posts do you want to read about me bitching about work. Am I right? I felt uninspired, and unproductive, and like this blog is stupid. But I had a great weekend, and I’m back here on my stupid blog. At least for now.   Things I want to tell you. Music. I came across a really cool artist....

Bushwick Open Studios

I went to watch a movie on Saturday, and you need to watch it too – Ms Peregrine’s home for peculiar children. And do so in a movie theater, and in 3D. This is not even a suggestion, this is a requirement. Because it’s “that” type of movie. It’s all about visuals, and boy are they magnificent; magnificent and bizarre Tim Barton style. It’s like a fairy tale on steroids. It’s also a type of fairy tale where there are no parallels, nor metaphors with real life. At least, in my opinion. The movie is not about love, it’s not about friendship,...

Dia Beacon – the far away place with erotic poems

SOO…I did it kids. I found meself an apartment. Bitching about the process last week might have forced the universe to listen and quite possibly go ‘well, this is just damn right ridiculous, give this sad little person something’. And I actually got more than something because it’s a fairly decent apartment. And I’m afraid to say more because then I’ll jinx it, and it will get blown up or something. Anyway, I have a shit load of moving and what-not stuff ahead of me, and I’m exhausted, but mostly relieved. Also, whilst in this gruesome process I came across...

Museum Mile: How to be classy and cheap

So this Tuesday I attended a pretty cool event called Museum Mile Festival, and it’s where all the New York’s museums located on the Fifth Ave open their doors to everyone for free, and you get to be a cheap ass museum lover. It happens once a year, so next year mark your calendars, and save some money for the occasion. Don’t save money, it’s free. I just told you that. What you will need money for is the Metropolitan Museum’s roof top bar. I mean what can be better than getting buzzed in a museum? Nothing. Central Park and Manhattan...

Arthur Kill Ship Graveyard: Ghosts Stole My Drone

How awesome was my weekend? Pretty damn awesome. Because that’s what happens when you plan well. Or when you plan activities that you actually look forward to. And I look forward to activities when there is a graveyard involved. Apparently.   Anyway. I read this article about Arthur Kill Ship Graveyard and it’s a place where ships go to die.  And so I immediately thought what a fun and romantic activity this would be. Probably family friendly too. Too bad I don’t have kids. So then I told my significant other and he confirmed that this would be a fun...

Chelsea Art Galleries

So this time I made it. I made it to the Chelsea Art Galleries on Thursday. Because there was a time, not so long ago, where I didn’t, and wrote about it here.   And here’s some neatly organized material that I prepared for you.   First off, try not to make it too obvious that you’re there primarily for the free alcohol. Meaning don’t drink at the first gallery you visit. Walk in, walk around, convince your head that art is your true interest and passion. Who knows it might actually work. Second gallery is fine, just don’t run...

Get scared shitless, and pay money for it

So, purely for research purposes, to obtain material for this blog, and provide you people with interesting information I went to see a show. I am most definitely lying, I went to see it because I wanted to, but doesn’t it make you feel special? Exactly. So, you’re welcome. You can be forever grateful to me later.   Anyway, I went to this thing called Sleep No More. And it’s hard to call it anything because it’s a lot of things and none of them at all. It’s a haunted house/play/show/mystery/five floors, so wear comfortable shoes. If you go on...

Eat, see art, play Lego

So, this weekend was the Labor Day weekend. You’re welcome, if you missed it. Although if you did, that probably means you had to work and it didn’t mean jack shit to you. Our hearts go out to you non-normalized working schedule people.   For the rest of the heard, I hope many got the chance to get away and do the farewell summary things. Although, chances are this heat will stay well through October and we’ll be doing the LAST swim, BBQ, or whatever other crucial outside activity for the last time at least several more time. Besides, internet...
